Ph. Edition - Mosque Of Mouffetard

Hello dear!
Today I propose you a new type of post -I speak as if I were in a telesales- wordless but containing only photos.
This is because:
- Not always we want -me in the first place- to read a lot of descriptions about what someone did;
- Not all topics need further information of the undersigned;
- I can post more frequently;
- You can not waste too much time and get over all in a minute.

We could call it fast-post. Let me know if you like the idea.

The first photographs I have chosen to show you were taken at the
Great Mosque located in 2 bis Place du Puits de l'Ermite -which is right behind my house-in the neighborhood of Mouffetard.

*****
Ciao belli!
- Non sempre abbiamo voglia -io in primis- di stare a leggere un sacco di menate su cosa ha fatto 'tizio';
- Non tutti gli argomenti necessitano di approfondimenti della sottoscritta;
- Posso pubblicare più frequentemente;

Museums, what a passion!
My self-denial to museum is steady even if I don't often talk about it.
And I really enjoy clothing -I'm a girl after all- too.
The exhibit I'm going to tell you about is inside of Musée d'Orsay and you'll be able to visit it until January, 20 2013.
*****

BLOGGER WE WANT YOU

Bonjour,
lately Grazia.it is giving the chance to common bloggers to become IT bloggers and being part of the reporters loop for the 5 categories offered
(Fashion, Beauty, Design, Food, Life Style).
I like reading Grazia from time immemorial, I really mean it, indeed I did a power-point in my Marketing class here in Paris about the incredible success of Grazia France in the last 2-3 years.
Obviously I couldn't let this opportunity go. So, I'll try.
Because I love news report.
Since I was a little girl I used to keep a daily journal, then I open my first awful blog in middle school, I start this blog from necessity of communication 6 years ago, and now I'm doing it just for my own entertainment no duty no need.
Because I have lots of ideas.
And somehow I have to let them out.
Because I study Marketing.
I love what I'm doing and "take care" of a blog is an inspiring starting point.
Because I'm always looking for new challenges.
Because I love to talk.
Tireless talker.

Most of all, I like to talk about what I love.

Indeed, I'm running for the section Life Style. It's all about trends, personalities, music, events, cinema, travels: topics which I feel confortable with.

You can vote for me everyday:

Bonjour,

Potete votare per me ogni giorno:

Pitchfork Festival - Day 3

Hipsters, hipsters everywhere.
It's the only thing you got to know to imagine of being there.
Nope, it isn't true: there's much more.
But, for sure, I spent a lot of time watching the awkward people who were there.
*****
Hipster, hipster ovunque.
No, non è vero: c'è molto altro.

Yummy, Salon Du Chocolat

I didn't talk about the weekend I spent with my aunt here a couple of weeks ago.
Friday November, 2 we went to the Chocolate Fair.
It seemed Wonderland.
Or either Land of Toys.
It was missing only The Hatter and the donkeys' boys.
Why I went to see it?
What kind of question is that?
I'm a girl and I love chocolate: winning mix.
*****

Parisian Neighborhoods: "Le Marais"

Here it is the first post about the Parisian neighborhoods!
I decided to begin from the Marais because it's the first neighborhood where I lived in
-just a couple of days- and because it's from here that I began my city exploration.
I'd like to say that I know perfectly how to turn around and look awesome to your eyes but it would be a huge lie; indeed to tell you something more I did research on the web and on the spot.
This is what came out.
*****

I Found A House In Paris: What A Stressful Challenge!

Hello everybody, find a low-rent house in Paris is kinda impossible and the bureaucracy doesn't help at all because it's pretty strict. Being an Erasmus it doesn't help as well and let's not even start talking about that I'm Italian. Stressful, demoralizing and exhausting: these words describe at best how it makes you feel looking for a house to rent here in Paris. Below there are some advices...
*****

First Impressions...& Vlog News #1

Bonjour, only 20 days have passed by and it seems two months to me.
There is a lot to say about Paris and Parisians -weirdos-.
It's a melting-pot city and this feature appears also in its neighborhoods, called arrondissement
Being an Erasmus here sometimes it may be a very positive thing but some other times it's a huge obstacle -mostly for house searching-.
I met tons of people and I had many exchanges of view that widen my ideas. It was a long time that didn't happen, it made me think a lot -at last you'd say-.
(Vlog at the bottom of the page)

Summer Endings

When it comes the end of August I'm always a little bit sad (like everybody else) because it means the summer is gone and time is up for lazy activities. But after realized that fall is coming around with all its colors, gloomy weather (I'm a romantic person) and new clothing styles in the stores I smile again.
I know, I know a lot of people will disagree with that but I love fall and I love to restart all over again every year. It looks stimulating to me.
*****

It's 'Gorgeous' To Furnish Home

Sales began last saturday in Italy!!!
No, I'm not gonna turn into a fashion blogger but today I would like to talk about home furnishing shopping. In every country you will be staying a little bit longer than a simple vacation you will feel the necessity of furnishing your new home.
Or at least that's how I feel.
And this is what we will talk about.
In Torino, there is a shop called GORGEOUS that sells many special pieces for the house and now with sales it's more convenient too!
*****

Tricks To Not Gain Weight

SUMMER IS COME, EVERYBODY WANTS TO FIT THEIR SWIMSUITS PERFECTLY, WE ALWAYS WANT TO LOOSE SOME MORE WEIGHT, WE DO NOT LIKE TO EAT FRUITS INSTEAD OF ICE CREAM AND WE ARE NEVER SATISFIED OF THE RESULTS.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO FIGHT THESE FEELINGS AND NOT EVEN ONE OF THOSE I'LL SHOW YOU TODAY MATCH TO A STRICT DIET.
*****
L'ESTATE E' ARRIVATA: OGNUNO DI NOI VORREBBE INDOSSARE IL COSTUME ED AVERE UN FISICO DA SBALLO MA NON ESSENDO MAI CONTENTI VOGLIAMO SEMPRE PERDERE QUEI 2 O 3 CHILETTI IN PIU', NONOSTANTE TUTTO NON PREFERIAMO MANGIARE LA FRUTTA AL POSTO DEL GELATO E ALLA FINE NON SIAMO MAI SODDISFATTI DEL RISULTATO.
CI SONO MOLTI MODI PER COMBATTERE IL SENSO DI COLPA DERIVANTE DALLO STRESS PER L'ALIMENTAZIONE E NESSUNO DI QUELLI CHE VI PRESENTO OGGI CORRISPONDE AD UNA DIETA FERREA.

In The Middle Of The Night

Billy Joel sang 'In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep' in the 1993 but now I say (and I don't sing it because I cannot sing in tune) for who prefer stay awake during the night 'In the middle of the night I go walking looking for a coffee'.

Okay, I stop being fool.

'All In' For Bob

Tuesday night Bob Sinclar, aka Christophe Le Friant, came to Torino to begin his tour "Disco Crash" at Palaisozaki. I still don't know how many people participated but as you can see it from the video below it was mind-blowing crowded. I really appreciated the underage drinking bracelet to control alcohol consumption.

Fashion & Magic: Talents Night

Hello Party-people!
Friday I joined another event at FSRR: 'Fashion & Magic, Talents Night'.
It was charming, artful and inspiring.
Many designers showed their outfits on the runway, made inside the hall of MORENO PER SPAZIO (Foundation café).
Musicians, dancers, mannequins, designers and photographers collaborated to make Friday night special. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant.
Hope you enjoy the following pics!
Buonasera Festaioli!

Why Study Abroad Is Important - Video

After a week of break, here I am again.
Today I show you a video about my American Year (4 years ago). I loved to study abroad and I'm trying to do it again, so I believe that studying abroad it's very important and it's worth to invest money on it, if it's possible.
Enjoy the show.
Buona visione

Museums, What A Passion! Palazzo Madama Edition

I can finally write the first post of the section "The Turinist", a mix of two words Turin and tourist. I'm very excited because I'm in love with Torino since I was a little girl and I'd like to share the places, the museum, the streets I know with who have never seen this city before or just arrived to live here.
*****

Today I'm gonna tell you about Palazzo Madama a huge building in the center of Turin (Piazza Castello) that hosts Ancient Art collections. There are two paths to follow: the rooms and their ambiance first of all, and the works of art then. Medieval lapidary, Baroque rooms, 17th and 18th century paintings and sculptures, ceramics, ivory, goldsmith's art, textiles... The most part of the works are from the region of Piedmont. These works are displayed on 4 floors. The underground one hosts (in the outside) the Gardens where several types of Medieval and Ancient garden are shown. When you reached the 4th floor, in a corner behind a door you find an elevator that brings you up to the top of the Siege Tower to see a beautiful scenic view of Torino.
*****

The "Sarà l'Italia" exhibit concluded Saturday. The reproduction of the first Italian Senate House was built for the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy, occurred last year. Many events and conferences took place here and 236.839 people visited it in 9 months.

Unavoidable stop: Caffé Madama (First Floor). You can have few moments of relax in front of Turin specialties. Glass windows let the light come in smoothly and it remains a perfect atmosphere to share with your friends.

Go Veg&Veg

Hello hipsters! Today I thought to you!
"Hip To Be Square" is the section dedicated to the Geek Chic philosophy or if you prefer we may say 'it's cool to be uncool'.
The subject of this odd department today is VEGETARIANISM.
 *****
Buona sera a tutti voi, Hipster! Oggi ho pensato a voi!

I state beforehand that I'm not a vegetarian and I usually eat meat, fish and dairy products but since a dear friend of mine became vegetarian on her own accord I started to care about it. From then on many times we tried veg restaurants, veg aperitifs, veg stores and veg food (Tofu, Seitan, etc). I think it's an interesting choice to make and it always fascinates me.
*****

To be honest I wouldn't like to renounce to meat and fish for my whole life but once in a while I do my 'personal' Vegetarian Week and I try to be Veg.
*****

So, in one of these discoveries we went to a VEGAN APERITIF (6€ first drink) with sought background music (vinyl only) at IL MOSCHINO, Via Vanchiglia 2/b, it is held every Wednesday from 7.30 p.m..
The food is extraordinarily great. There's a lot of variety and you won't go away feeling hunger. The music, oh the music. I really loved that musical genre: old style, dreamy, transporting and maybe a little bit 70s.
*****
HIPSTERS, COULD YOU ASK FOR MORE?
PIU' HIPSTER DI COSI SI MUORE!

London For The First Time

Today for the Travels Column, I'm gonna tell you about a short trip I did last November with my friend Flavia.
At the end of the summer Flavia and I were wondering about going somewhere in the fall but we didn't want to spend too much money.

London was the perfect destination: it is served by Ryan Air, in the fall leaves are all colored, I had never been there before and she was already in love with London.
We were doubtful only about the hostels and the cost of living.
We booked our flight one month and a half before leaving and the hostel only 2/3 weeks before. We found several hostels cheap enough but we chose The Warlus Waterloo even if it is not the cheapest one because it's very close to the metro station "Lamberth North" and if we wanted to walk it's near by Westminster Abbey, London Eye and Big Bang Tower. If you are thinking about going to London for the first time this is the best hostel you can book because it's simple to find and you have the chance of walking through the streets of a very nice area. Moreover, the hostel is upon an unique pub. Just few further information about it: it's clean enough, every room has personal lockers, free use of the kitchen and of the wireless.

We spent our first UK day accommodating in the hostel and looking for Maurizio, a friend of us who arrived the day before and he would have stayed a couple of months. After finding him and taking a look around Westminster Area, all together we went to dinner in a Chinese restaurant in Leicester Square where we found an all-you-can-eat buffet at 9 pounds. After no long we faint in the hostels' beds.

DAY 2: We walked since the early morning and we saw the House Of Parliament, Westminster Abbey (remember to do not enter if you want a low cost trip because it's very expensive the entrance fee), Buckingham Palace, Green and St. James' Park and then Harrods (You can look on the map how much we walked to see all this). For lunch, Hyde Park Corner is perfect! Many little restaurants are here, most of all there is "Pret-A-Manger" (actually you can find it everywhere) a restaurant chain that sells cheap healthy food, and it is such a pretty area, very relaxing. I noticed that people there were frenetic 24/7, they're always darting one way or another, so it's pretty difficult to find a quiet place.
The afternoon Flavia and I visited the British Museum but none of the pieces was British. A lot of ancient Greek ruins but it's a must-see of London (free entrance).

Maurizio, Flavia and I spent the evening in Soho, Piccadilly Circus and Trocadero that offer a lot of night life. And remember cinema is not an ordinary proposal but musical theater is.

DAY 3: November, 5th. Reaching the London Bridge by subway, we spend there the morning and we also visited the National Gallery. I loved the NG but just like the British Museum there are few national paintings. Worth it anyway. We had lunch in Trafalgar Square and we shortly had a look to Covent Garden (for those who love shopping it's the perfect place to stop) before coming back to the hostel, changing clothes and going up on London Eye during the celebration of Guy Fawkes Night, with fireworks. Then, we headed for Camden Town (another very good place to do some hipster and grunge shopping). Must-do in Camden Town besides shopping: eating fish and chips of course!
We ended up our third day cruising in Baker Street (just for real shopping lovers).

The last day we slowed down. We were tired and we decided to see only Notting Hill Gate for brunch and Baker Street until the moment of leaving by bus. Then, we spent the whole night in the airport and we came back to Italy. It has been such a good experience! I will come back someday because there are still many things I'd like to see.
Here it is the map and the subway map we used during our trip. You can see that I circled the most popular attractions (but I didn't see all of them).
